Jan Faber: "In Haun fol Saun"

Jan Faber was born on Schiermonnikoog. The island inspires him to capture and share with other Schiermonnikoog enthusiasts.

"Whenever I can, I take the boat and I feel like I'm in a completely different world again. Of tides and surf, of marram grass and pines, drifting sand and silt. A place where heaven and earth meet and the light has a special character. With my camera to hand I can wander around for hours and feel like a child in a candy store. And it is wonderful to see how my children enjoy the island as much as I do"

Jan has named his exhibition after a famous islander poem "In Haunfol Saun" (a handful of sand) by Mr Jacob Fenenga (1888-1972).

You can see more of Jan's work in his online exhibition.
